Is your computer slow and takes a lot of time to open programs?

Many of us face this problem on a regular mode. Though there is a pretty decent and a good PC configuration, sometimes our system doesnt use it! I mean my AMD 6000+ 3 GHz at times gets stuck up....Though I use many programs simultaneously, never did I faced it...But sometimes, it doesnt work out...So the below tweak might just help us to some extent.
Ensure that you dont have lot of programs on startup and also see that they dont keep running in the background.

  • Go to Start | Run and type "msconfig" and press Enter
  • Try removing unnecessary items from the "startup" section. Go to the "Services" tab, check the "Hide all microsoft services" and disable the ones that you dont need running in the background.
Note: Dont disable any thing required by the antivirus software!
Overclocking the CPU might also help - but not advisable by many. Only games may be very slighlty improved by performance but not applications.
