USB standard for phone chargers

This important news was published in a recent magazine! :)



It should have been done a long time ago, but 17 manufacturers including Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung have just agreed to drop their own connectors in favor of micro USB plugs and
sockets to charge the majority of their phones by 2012. The move will help reduce e-waste.

Phones might not even ship with chargers in the future, which will cut costs as well.
